Why did you choose a career in the finance industry?

I grew up poor and I didn’t want to be poor anymore, so I studied money so I could learn how to obtain and keep it.

CEO – Boyce Watkins Enterprises, and The Black Business School

CEO – Greensky Properties, a Real Estate Firm

How did you go about curating content on a daily basis?

When social media came along, I saw this as an opportunity to teach 30,000 people at a time instead of 30 students in a classroom. I then formed a Youtube channel and here I am, a million subscribers later!

What are your next projects?

I have a new book in March called, “The 10 Commandments of Black Economic Power.” And, we are also hosting The All Black National Convention in October in Charlotte.

What advice do you have for business owners who have struggled to stay in business due to the pandemic?

Never give up on yourself. Use the network you have to create opportunities and make sure there is a digital component to your business model. Brainstorm with respected friends or colleagues to find creative ways to monetize your business. The money is out there, you just have to find it.
